HOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to see a counsellor, you should first register with us so that we can properly assess your specific situation.

To obtain a registration form you can:

  • telephone 020-8504-1228 and ask for a registration form. IF THE OFFICE IS CLOSED you may leave your name and address on the answerphone and we will send you a Registration pack as soon as possible.
  • call in or write to the Counsel for LIFE office at 10 Crescent Road, London, E18 1JB (We are located a short walk from South Woodford Underground station)
  • ask your doctor, employer or religious leader to refer you to us.

PLEASE SEND THE COMPLETED FORM BACK TO US and we will contact you with a date for a first appointment.

The first appointment provides an opportunity for clients to discuss their situations with a Counsellor.

If Counsel for LIFE can provide appropriate help, the client will then be offered an appointment with a suitable counsellor. They will meet together at weekly intervals thereafter, for up to 50 minutes each time. These appointments are normally booked to take place at the same time each week.

Some clients may require only a few sessions; others gain benefit by attending over a much longer period of time.

Client and counsellor, together, agree when it is most appropriate to end the course of counselling. Of course, the client is able to cancel at any time (subject to 24 hours notice), although it is best to attend a final ‘ending session’.
