Most of us have difficult moments in life, when thoughts and feelings may become overwhelming. Sometimes these moments may be particularly acute or long-lived, and we need support to understand and begin to find our way through them. It is not always possible to talk to family or friends and trying to cope alone can add additional pressure.
Counselling offers a confidential and supportive space for you to explore what is troubling you, to reflect on and better understand your thoughts and feelings, and to consider your options. Counselling also offers room for you to be heard and supported, so that you do not have to cope alone.
Counselling can help you deal with a range of issues including the following:
Anxiety
Depression and low mood
Feeling lost or unsure of your place in life
Loss and grief
Family or relationship troubles
Feelings of loneliness or isolation
Issues at work or feeling burnt out
Self esteem and low confidence
Our counsellors work in an integrative way, drawing on a number of therapeutic approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic, relational, and solution-focused, to help you reflect on and untangle the difficulties you are experiencing. We work with you, respecting your unique experience. We are not here to tell you what to do. We wish to listen, support, and help you understand yourself and your experiences better, so that you can take steps forward.
